Born in Moldova, (Former USSR),
Boris started learning the violin at the age of 7 years old.  As he developed a passion towards the violin, he pursued his study in the Gorky Conservatorium of Music in USSR. He has also studied Violin Performance with Prof. Semion Yaroshevich (student of Boris Belenky and David Oistrakh)  and Chamber Music with Prof. Sofia Propischan.

Before coming to New Zealand in 1997, Boris was a member in many orchestras around the world including the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Moldova, Raanana Symphonette Orchestra, and 
Tel-Aviv Symphony Orchestra. In New Zealand, Boris played with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra,  Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. 

Boris'  students has gained entry to pursue their music education in Sydney Conservatorium of
Music, Australia, New York University, USA,  Leopold Mozart Centre in Augsburg, Germany, and Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. He was invited to teach at Leopold Auer International Music Academy.
His students have been awarded major prizes in a few violin competition such as,  SAPACS, WAPACS,  Kendall National Competition, Australia [2009],  ASEAN Concerto Competition [2013], and the American Protégé Music Competition (2021).

 

Boris also enjoys teaching Chamber Music. The junior group achieved , Newcomers Award in 2018 and Best Junior Award in Auckland District NZCT Chamber Music Contest in 2013 and 2019. His senior groups was the NZCT Chamber Music Contest Auckland Regional Finalist in 2007, 2008, 2014, 2015, and was the National Finalist of NZCT Chamber Music Contest in 2005, 2006, and 2012.

With more than 25 years of teaching experience, Boris has written two books, one for beginner violinists  (Violin Virtuoso: First Steps to Perfection (2013))  and one for advance students , Scales and Arpeggios (2008)
